Where do I start… firstly I am not normally the type to leave reviews but spend my life reading through them before booking somewhere and after returning from Cilpost thought it was the least I could do and OMG the photos don’t do it enough justice, there’s SOOOO much more to the place that is beautiful so I thought I’d section this one out.
We came as a family of 20 for my mum’s 70th and niece’s 18th and everyone from age 10 – 75 loved it!! Not one of us have a complaint.
Royston – what a lovely lovely guy, from the moment we pulled up he greeted us and offered to show us around, easy going, helpful and a great sense of humour đ We even offered him in to the party and made him breakfast before we left, he couldn’t do enough for us.â˘POOL- 6 children and hardly seen them all weekend, clean, warm and easy to use cover, plenty of floaties, games and balls to chose from.
â˘GAMES ROOM
Glad I read reviews as from photos it just shows table tennis but also has an air hockey machine that flips to a pool table, magnet dart board and others. On arrival did say to Royston we were considering bringing our dart board but packed too much and within the hour he was back with a dart board đ. (Also to mention you can see the games room from a number of rooms in the house to keep check on the little darlings)KITCHEN
Beautiful đ large dining table, plenty of work top space, American fridge and a smaller fridge, dishwasher and everything else needed is there, you also have the little utility room next to it which has a drying room off it for bathers etc, washing machine/dryer and more cupboard/work top space.DINING ROOM
This is where we spent most of our time being such a large group and an itinerary of games/quiz night/ fashion show. We all sat comfortably for meals and everything else, plenty of space to decorate and also has fairy lights around ceiling, which is lovely touch in the evenings or special occasions.LOUNGE/S
Ah how we wished we had booked an extra night just to sit by that log fire and chill. We were so busy all weekend we feel we totally missed out on this because by the time we lit it on the Sunday night we all fell asleep in front of it within the hour.
Other lounge with TV fitted 9 men to watch the football comfortably too.BEDROOMS
Myself and cousin checked in earlier than the rest of the family to decorate and thought we would have first pick of the best bedroom but honestly they’re all perfect, plenty of spare pillows if needed (none of us did) and comfy.GROUNDS
You have sooo much ground to enjoy, summer here would be amazing and I think I’d actually lose my children unless they needed feeding, plenty of outside seating also and the views are gorgeous. And lastly which I know most parents will want the answer to: WIFI!!
Let’s just say 20 of us connected and didn’t expect much but we had 20 mobile phones, oculus, laptops, ipads, speaker and a firestick and didn’t have a glitch! Brilliant! We had food at the Station Inn pub on the Sunday that was beautiful and 5 mins away, and a ÂŁ200+ Chinese that was also beautiful.
There’s also a co op down the road if needed.Honestly we have already looked to come back and shared this place with our friends and families because it really was perfect for all ages. As a family we couldn’t recommend the place or Royston enough, a big big thank you for allowing us to stay, we will 100% be back!! Xxx
BECCY – OCTOBER 2024
Had an amazing time at Cilpost farm for my 40th birthday celebrations. Took my whole family (13 adults and 8 kids) and there was more than enough room for all of us and space for the kids to keep themselves entertained too, including my eldest who found a new love for playing the piano she found there.
The grounds were amazing with a lovely walk down by the stream and the swimming pool was the icing on the cake, and a big shout out to Jo and Royston who were amazing hosts and nothing was too much so thank you very much.
ALAN – OCTOBER 2024
Cilpost Farm is great as a base for a family holiday. The fourteen of us thoroughly enjoyed all that Cilpost Farm and the location have to offer. The four children aged three to nine had a ball.
We were met by Royston and Jo on arrival and straight away felt welcomed. Throughout the week, Royston was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble.
We spent our days out and about – the area has lots to offer, it is about an hour to St David’s. There are lots of lovely beaches – Tenby, Saundersfoot, Pendine to name a few, there are golf courses and castles – Pembroke Castle was great, we loved Narbeth and then there is Folly Farm and for older children Heatherton.
The house is very spacious, with everything you need. The big farmhouse kitchen became the family hub whilst the indoor swimming pool and the games room were a huge hit with everyone.
We ate at the Roadhouse in Whitland which fitted the bill perfectly as a family friendly venue for a meal out.
Cilpost Farm is a great place for a large gathering and we would happily recommend it.
NICK & CATHY – AUGUST 2024.
Cilpost Farm was a fantastic spot for a long awaited family get together. The indoor pool was a great hit with the grandchildren, with lots of inflatables available for gameplay. The older kids loved the games room, with air hockey, pool and table tennis. The surrounding gardens were well kept with a rambling walk down to stream and woodland. The farmhouse itself was also rambling with rooms to get lost in whilst the real work went on in the kitchen. We had everything we needed and more, and Royston was just a call away if we needed any help. I wouldnât hesitate in recommending. We were all delighted with the location, not too far from Tenby and St Davids. Thank you for welcoming us and helping us feel totally at home Royston
CORINNE – AUGUST 2024
Fantastic space for a large group! Our kids enjoyed the pool and the games room a lot. Large dining space and lounges. Had a wonderful time!
ANANADA – AUGUST 2024
A great place for families with wide age band. Plenty of space, plus games room and pool were a winner especially on rainy days. Itâs a great location, peaceful and rural, and Jo/Royston were always at hand if needed. Highly recommend for a large group!
PAUL – AUGUST 2024
We had a wonderful family holiday at the farmhouse which exceeded all expectations. The swimming pool was bigger and warmer than I had expected and played a major factor in making the holiday such a success. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Thank you.
ELIZABETH – AUGUST 2024
Having visited for the last three years, Cilpost is a home from home for our family.
The house is a great space with ample room for everyone and is very well equipped. The garden is wonderfully well kept, we all enjoy watching the swifts in flight around the grounds and a wander down to the stream.
The swimming pool is a fantastic size and incredibly warm – perfect for younger children who can easily get cold in a swimming pool. The games room has an excellent array of activities that are great for all ages.
The house is in a rural and very quiet location. We highly recommend the “twisted retro” chip shop in town that does pop up events at the weekend. If you turn left out of the drive at Cilpost and follow the road for one mile you will come across a little honesty bakery which sells amazing cakes (and takes both cash and card). Lots of lovely local beaches to explore within a 30 minute drive.
The owners are both wonderful, Jo was quick to respond to our queries and questions before and after our trip and Royston swiftly sorted any issues when we were on site.
I cannot recommend Cilpost enough.
LIN – JULY 2024
If you ever want to get away to the countryside this is the place to be! Amazing farmhouse surrounded by beautiful scenery with ample of space. The house has many entertainment so no one is ever bored. The host Jo and Royston couldnât have been more accommodating! Definitely would recommend to family and friends. đ
KHADIJA – JULY 2024
A home away from home, well equipped and maintained, courtyard, games room and heated pool add value to one’s stay. Last minute shopping can be done on North Road very close to the farmhouse. Rooms have ample space and all amenities in working condition. Last but not the least, Mr Royston the proprietor, is a gem of a person…friendly, helpful and a nice chap to have around. All in all, you’d never go wrong with picking Cilpost farmhouse as your holiday destination. đ
MOHAMED – JULY 2024
We had a fabulous few days at Cilpost Farm for our senior management meeting. Whilst not officially set up for corporate events, the house was perfect, with lots of space for breakout sessions and social areas both inside and out. The kitchen was huge so worked well for preparing group meals and tidying up afterwards with space for us all to muck in. Bedrooms are all a good size, many with en-suite bathrooms. The grounds are beautiful and the games room and pool a real bonus for evening socialising. A great location for our other team-building activities – with Tenby only a short drive away. Royston was a fabulous host – couldnât do more for us to make sure our visit was a success . We would thoroughly recommend and will hopefully be back again soon!
AMANDA – JULY 2024
Our stay at Cilpost was fantastic. The host went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, making us feel incredibly welcome. The property itself was picturesque, with a warm pool that provided endless family fun. We especially enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which was perfect for alfresco breakfasts surrounded by beautiful scenery. Inside, the house was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only minor downside was limited WiFi coverage in some corners of the house, but the connection was fast when available, considering the area’s limited internet infrastructure. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway.
AZHAR – JULY 2024
We have recently returned from our third stay at Cilpost and what an incredible place it is. Our first was for our Ruby Wedding anniversary, then my 60th, then my husband’s 70th!
Now the family have decided we should try and make it a regular annual event. The houses is unique in its space and facilities. It sleeps 22 and there is so much room downstairs one never feels cramped. We were 14 adults and 8 children, it is warm and well equipped. The swimming pool was very popular as was the games room. Although we are a very close family, with all 5 of our adult children living locally and the 8 cousins being close, there is something very special about all going away together and is a highlight of the year.
Royston and Jo are lovely welcoming hosts and are making positive changes in their new role. The House would lend itself perfectly for a family get together like ours, several families wanting to holiday together, an art retreat or similar etc. We just love it and want to tell everyone how amazing it is!
Row – May 2024
We stayed at Jo & Royston’s Cilpost Farm for a wonderful family gathering. Royston was incredibly helpful & friendly on arrival & even let us have early access to the property. He couldn’t do more to make our stay more enjoyable. It is a lovely huge place with plenty of room for the 18 of us, surrounded by beautiful countryside, with everything we could want for our short break away. The swimming pool was a huge plus, as well as the games room (pool, table tennis, air hockey, giant Connect 4 etc.) We were lucky to have amazing weather on our stay & so spent lazy days outside in the beautiful grounds. Tenby is also nearby (30 minutes drive) & is well worth a visit as are other amazing beaches. Royston told us he has great plans for Cilpost Farm so watch this space as we think this place will get even better! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we’ll be back!
anne – may 2024
Jo and Royston were fantastic hosts! They were incredibly welcoming and readily available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. Their beautiful farmhouse was the perfect setting for our family reunion with 19 adults. The house itself was very spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and spread out, both indoors and outdoors. It was very well equipped for large groups! The grounds were stunning, and the warm swimming pool was a huge hit with all. The games room was also a nice addition, providing entertainment during our stay (not to mention the beautiful and cosy Inglenook fireplace!) We had such a wonderful time at Jo and Royston’s farmhouse, and we will definitely be recommending it to others and hopefully returning ourselves for another family get together!
Catherine – may 2024
Cilpost Farm is even better than it looks on the photos. We were met by Royston who took us round and explained everything to us. So much space everywhere. Lounges are lovely especially the one with a wood burner in a huge inglenook fireplace. Kitchen has everything you need and much more. The bedrooms were all great especially the en-suite ones. The swimming pool was a great hit with all the family, it was beautifully warm and clean. A very useful drying room helped with all the wet things. The games room had a pool table and air hockey as well as the advertised table tennis table so again was loved by all our teenagers and adults too. I really canât praise this place enough. I had a wonderful holiday with my two daughters and their families. Everyone loved it and pleasing that many people of different ages isnât easy. Thank you Royston and Jo.
Jan – april 2024
Wow⌠just when you think nothing could help you relax from your manic day to day life, you escape reality and you take a trip to this wonderful holiday home surrounded by nothing but serene views. This beautiful home is the perfect place to be âofflineâ and put your feet up in front of a warm cozy fire with a glass of wine! You can take a nice walk down to the lake or possibly even the beach (which isnât too far away by car) and take a breath of fresh air, whilst you disconnect for a while. A big thank you to Jo for making us feel so welcome and giving us all a well deserved break!
DEVINA – MARCH 2024
Our stay at Cilpost farmhouse was amazing, 20 family members celebrating my 60th birthday and Easter, everything was perfect. Both Royston & Jo, the owners, couldnât do enough to ensure we had everything for our break.
The children enjoyed the heated pool, which was so warm, and if they werenât in the pool they were in the games room, which had pool/air hockey, table tennis, velcro ball dart board, and connect 4. There was a stream at the bottom of the large garden plus plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside.
The bedrooms were comfortable and 5 had en suites plus a separate family bathroom. The kitchen had everything you need, plus two fridge freezers, two dishwashers , washing machine and a microwave. There was a large and small dining room, plus two lounges and a playroom.
An amazing experience we hope to repeat in the future.
sandra – march 2024
A great place to stay. We had a family group of 13 and thereâs room for lots more. Our friendly host Royston couldnât be more helpful and the house was warm and cosy with clean bedrooms and bathrooms, and a large, well equipped kitchen. Great location for exploring South Wales or just chillaxing by the pool, which was nice and warm even in winter. Looking forward to a return visit in the summer!
